The project boasts an area of 576 hectares of coastal redwoods that grow at an annual rate of 3%, capable of sequestering large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The project not only guarantees environmental benefits through carbon sequestration but also offers significant zoological and social co-benefits.
How the project works
The ares in which the projects are developed are monitored thanks to satellite data and 3D images (Lidar Imaging technology), used to analyze the real forest's cover, detecting possible deforestation in the area. Thanks to machine learning algorithms, every project is able to estimate the carbon measure that forests actually absorbed and removed from the atmosphere.
We decided to collaborate with Pachama, a data-driven company that applies AI principles to protect woodlands in many areas around the world, and restore our planet's ecosystems. A scientific and technological approach allows us to give back to our users data ever more precise and complete on the progress of the projects they choose to support for offset their own climate impact.
